Introduction
The Department of Economic and Financial Law (the Department) has been charged with a perspective to combine the study of law with an emphasis on commercial and financial disciplines. Based on a solid training on law and other interdisciplinary subjects, the Department expects graduating students acquiring practical legal skills in commerce, International business transaction and finance.

Career Plan and Job Opportunity:

  1. Advanced Studies: Graduates of the Department may enter either domestic or foreign Graduate School of Law, Graduate school of Technology Law, Graduate School of Intellectual Property Rights, Institute of Labor Studies, Graduate Institute of Economics, Graduate Institute of Criminology, among others.
  2. Teaching: Graduates of the Department may seek a teaching position of Civic or Business Law in professional high school.
  3. Government Officer: Graduates of the Department may take special judiciary qualification examinations and other government examinations in law, taxation, finance, and insurance to work as government officer in professional fields of financial and economic laws.
  4. Related Professional Career: Graduates of the Department may take the bar examination and seek admission to the practice of law, including working as an independent attorney of law or associate in a law firm, starting a legal services business, or working as a legal in-house counsel in an enterprise.

Curriculum

Curriculum of the Department consists of the following five parts:
Part 1-Basic Legal courses: Public law、Civil law、Procedure law
Part 2 -Financial & Economic Law Elective Courses
Part 3-Finance & Economics courses
Part 4-International Business Transaction Courses
Part 5-General (liberal arts) Education:
Core Courses: Chinese, English, Career formulation, Interpersonal relationship and communication.

Planning of the Department
  1. Increase the functional electives to meet the current demand of financial institutions.
  2. Recruit a diverse body of legal professionals with rich experiences and achievements in both academia and practice to enrich the learning experiences of all students.
  3. Host or sponsor symposia and seminars on financial and economic law issues targeting significant while-collar crime case analyses.
