Goals & Aims
Investment and finance activities are at the center of the economy. This Department aims at producing and developing a high level workforce of management officers for financial institutions including commercial banks, brokerage firms, mutual funds, investment consulting companies and insurance companies.

Courses
Courses are designed to equip the students with:
  • Extensive knowledge in investment, corporate finance, banking and insurance
  • Planning and implementation skills
  • Foreign language proficiency
  • Hands-on computer and database knowledge
  • Communication and interpersonal skills
Special Features
In order to facilitate our objectives, we place emphasis on the following areas:
  • Field trips to seminars at financial institutions supplementing traditional class lectures.
  • Promoting an atmosphere for academic research. We periodically publish our journal "The Golden Memory" to encourage faculty and students to stay abreast of finance and insurance information. By actively participating in conferences and symposiums, our faculty members and students are exposed to advanced research in related fields.
  • Continual upgrade of our multimedia teaching equipment including overhead projectors, slides, video and DVD player and computer-based instruction tools.
  • Strengthening of our students' abilities to process financial and insurance information via computer applications and computer-aided designs.
  • Stressing coherence and consistency in organized and sequenced course work.
Curriculum
  • Corporate finance and investment: Familiarizes students with various financial markets and products so as to prepare them to adapt to the constantly changing financial environment.
  • Insurance and risk management: Increases students' knowledge of legal and business environments of life insurance and property-casualty insurance practices.
  • Computer and data processing: Courses include Business Programming Designs, Computerized Application Packages, Internet and Intranets, Multimedia Application, e-commerce and Banking Information Systems, and Insurance Information Systems.
  • Foreign language proficiency: Courses offered include English and Japanese.
Facilities
This Institute is equipped with a total of 28 computerized classrooms, providing students with a top-quality learning environment. In addition, there is a laboratory for simulated business practice.
