Goals & Aims
- To develop professional specialists of international trade with high-tech knowledge, capable of functioning effectively in the dynamic and complex environment of the global marketplace.
- To cultivate in students good business ethics and a professional approach to work.
Special Features
- Combining theory and practice by arranging visiting professionals to lecture in class and arranging discussion activities.
- Holding international commercial product exhibitions to thoroughly familiarize students with "International Trade Practices"
- Continual upgrade of computer application facilities in an effort to promote communication.
- Implementation of multimedia courses to boost students' technological knowledge and competitiveness.
Curriculum
Courses emphasize the basic theories of finance, economics, mathematics and accounting, as well as the planning of enterprise finance and risk management.
There are five special features of the courses:
- Professional Courses: emphasize the establishment of international trade concepts and practical operation of international trade, and the cultivation of analytical ability of international markets.
- Language Courses: include English for International Trade (writing) and Business Japanese.
- Commercial Information Systems: Introduction to Computers, Design for Standard Commercial Procedures, Applied Standard Procedures, Information Systems for International Trade and Trade Management Computerization.
- Commercial Skill Courses: Computer Documents, Administrative Management (in Chinese and English.)
- Courses geared for Cross-strait Relations: Economics and Trade, Cross-strait Relations.
Teaching Facilities
Our planned future development will serve the following purposes:
- Promoting national economic development and dealing with economic and trade situations arising as a result of Taiwan's accession into the WTO.
- Managing and excelling in the electronic business era.
- Cultivating high talent for government institutes and international trade policy-making bodies in industrial & business enterprise and business management.
- Promoting academic research in the international business field.
Future Development
The Department of International Trade has an International Trade Electronic Information classroom, as well as a Professional Network System classroom, equipped with modern audio-visual media and a video telex from Chung Hwa Telecom Data Communication Business Group and the Ministry of Transportation and Communications. This gives students access to all available business information on trade and foreign exchange as well as post-graduation prospects.
